Hard card covers are for storing or transporting cards, not for playing. They are suitable for more expensive Pokémon cards of all types. The most well-known and best-selling are toploaders and one touch holders. Toploaders are plastic, hard sleeves that come in a variety of widths (for Pokémon cards, you'll be fine with a 35 PT width). One touch holders are hard plastic boxes that you can store your valuable cards in, or mail them in (and have UV protection from the sun). At the same time, these one touch holders can display the card and protect the card from UV rays (again, for Pokémon cards, a 35 PT width will do).
